Fitness trainer and broadcaster Yang Chi-seung recently visited Gwangjang Market amidst the 'overcharging controversy.'

On the 13th, Yang Chi-seung's YouTube channel 'Yang Chi-seung's MakTube' featured a video titled "Six Tteokbokki at Gwangjang Market. Was Yang Chi-seung Really a Sucker?"

In the video, Yang Chi-seung remarked, "It's been a while since I've been to Gwangjang Market. It's a traditional market with a street vendor vibe, but I heard there's an issue here, so I came to check it out." He added, "The news says there aren't many people, but even on a weekday, it's packed, especially with foreigners," expressing his surprise.

Yang Chi-seung, along with his production team, ordered various street foods like tteokbokki, sundae, japchae, fish cake, and dumplings. The video displayed the prices, such as 8,000 won for sundae and 5,000 won for japchae.

Yang Chi-seung commented, "I've eaten here a lot before. I come for the nostalgic vibe, not necessarily the taste," as he paid a total of 27,000 won for the food.

On his way home, Yang Chi-seung shared his thoughts, "There were more foreigners than locals. People need to earn and spend money for the economy to thrive. If we show selfish behavior, foreigners might stop coming. If we improve a bit, more people will visit. If locals feel overcharged, they won't come back. I think foreigners might find it tastier than locals do," offering his candid assessment.

The 'overcharging controversy' arose recently when a YouTuber visiting Gwangjang Market ordered sundae for 8,000 won, but the vendor added meat without notice and charged 10,000 won.
