Jung Kyung-ho Shines in 'Pro Bono' as Ratings Climb

Actor Jung Kyung-ho, who debuted in 2004, is delivering a stellar performance in 'Pro Bono.'

The tvN weekend drama 'Pro Bono,' which premiered on the 6th, tells the story of a career-driven judge who unexpectedly becomes a public defender, finding himself in a zero-revenue public interest team at a major law firm. The show's ratings have been on the rise, with the first episode garnering 4.5% and the second episode climbing to 6.2%.

In the series, Jung Kyung-ho plays Kang Da-wit, a judge who unexpectedly transitions to a public defender role. Despite facing a barrage of questions from reporters, Kang Da-wit (played by Jung Kyung-ho) remains unshaken as he arrives at court. He leaves a strong impression by delivering a harsh verdict in a high-profile corporate chairman's trial. After the verdict, he discovers a surge in his social media followers and dances joyfully to Psy's 'Celebrity,' showcasing a charming contrast to his earlier stern demeanor.

A new side of Kang Da-wit emerges when he faces the threat of losing his judicial robe due to a box of apples found in his car. As the chief judge angrily presents a video that could serve as crucial evidence of bribery, Kang Da-wit is overwhelmed by shock and fear, collapsing under the pressure. Later, on the rooftop, he recalls his mother's insistence on success, leaving a poignant impression with his somber expression.

After a series of events, Kang Da-wit is forced to submit his resignation to the court and becomes a public defender with the help of Oh Jung-in (played by Lee Yoo-young), the head of Oh & Partners. Despite lamenting his sudden shift from handling major cases to unpaid public interest lawsuits, he quickly adapts, showcasing his ability to read situations swiftly. His bold move to promise a high win rate in exchange for a Supreme Court nomination recommendation to Oh Jung-in highlights Kang Da-wit's audacious nature.
