Behind the Scenes of 'Black and White Chef': Banchan Chef Shares His Experience
On the YouTube channel 'An Sung Jae,' run by Chef An Sung Jae, a video titled 'Why Does It Feel Edited? The Best Cooking Black Spoon Banchan Chef Revealed' was uploaded.
In the video, Chef An Sung Jae meets with Banchan Chef to have an honest conversation about his experiences during Season 1 of 'Black and White Chef.'
Banchan Chef was unfortunately eliminated during the 4th round restaurant mission. An Sung Jae introduced Banchan Chef by saying, "I came to meet someone who left a bit of regret," and began their conversation. Notably, despite leading his team to victory in the 3rd round with his 'Yukjeon Idea,' Banchan Chef's airtime was less than two minutes across nine episodes.
When An Sung Jae asked if he survived the first team mission, Banchan Chef expressed his disappointment, saying, "I survived thanks to Chef An Sung Jae's Yukjeon, but even that part wasn't aired." An Sung Jae laughed awkwardly at this comment.
In the continued conversation, An Sung Jae asked Banchan Chef, "What did 'Black and White Chef' mean to you?" Banchan Chef intriguingly replied, "Honestly, it felt like a 'backstab.'" He explained that it had two meanings: first, "I got to see parts I couldn't see on screen through the broadcast," and second, "I had high expectations for the program, but the outcome was different from what I expected, making it feel like a backstab."
