Kim Min-ha Discusses Mixed Reactions to 'Typhoon Company' and Its Happy Ending
Recently, at a café in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Kim Min-ha, who stars in tvN's 'Typhoon Company,' shared her thoughts in an interview.
'Typhoon Company' is a drama set during the 1997 IMF crisis, following the growth of Kang Tae-pung (played by Lee Junho), a novice businessman who unexpectedly becomes the president of a struggling trading company with no employees, money, or products to sell. Kim Min-ha plays Oh Mi-seon, the company's ace accountant, known for her sharp sense of reality.
The drama's storyline, filled with constant challenges for the company, has led to divided opinions among viewers, with some describing it as a 'frustrating ending.' In response to these reactions, Kim Min-ha stated, "I understand why there are mixed reactions. Ultimately, it ends on a happy note. Typhoon Company is successfully established, and the family members have found their places perfectly," adding, "I believe viewers will be able to watch it with a smile, given its happy conclusion."
She continued, "I hope more long-format dramas are produced. While some may find them slow and frustrating, I think they are more realistic. In a story about a failing company, things can't be resolved quickly. We wanted to show the process of overcoming crises and growing."
Kim Min-ha concluded, "There are some parts I wish could have been better, but overall, I think it was a really good project."
