Lee Junho Reflects on Working with Former 2PM Fan Kim Min-ha in 'Taepung Sangsa'
Recently, at a café in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, Lee Junho, who starred in tvN's 'Taepung Sangsa,' sat down for an interview.
'Taepung Sangsa' is a drama set during the 1997 IMF crisis, following the growth of novice businessman Kang Tae-pung, played by Lee Junho, who unexpectedly becomes the president of a struggling trading company. The show started with a 5.9% viewership rating and concluded with its highest rating of 10.3%. It maintained the top spot in TV popularity rankings by FUNdex throughout its airing.
Lee Junho commented on the show's historical backdrop, saying, "It was a story with a distinct characteristic of the IMF era. I thought it could serve as a bridge between the generation that experienced those times and those who are less familiar with it." He added, "It was a story I wanted to explore because it captured the romance and love of that era."
He added, "At first, I was doubtful, but later, I was really grateful. I wanted to ask which fan club generation she was part of and what she liked, but I couldn't due to the circumstances. Hearing her say she was a 'Hottest' made me realize, 'I've reached an age where I hear things like this,' and it was a day of many realizations."
