Lee Seung-gi and Joo Woo-jae Discuss 'Early Birth Year' Dynamics Amidst Personal Challenges

Lee Seung-gi and Joo Woo-jae engaged in a lively discussion about the concept of 'early birth year' dynamics.

On the YouTube channel 'Today's Joo Woo-jae,' a video titled 'How to Sing This Live? Lee Seung-gi Special, Rewind Duet, By Your Side' was uploaded, featuring a conversation between the model and broadcaster Joo Woo-jae and singer-actor Lee Seung-gi.

In the video, Joo Woo-jae noticed Lee Seung-gi wearing a similar outfit and remarked, "Even though we have everything set up like a broadcast with PPL, think of it as a casual chat and feel comfortable."

Lee Seung-gi responded, "I've seen a bit of it, and I'll just talk comfortably." Joo Woo-jae then pointed out, "We're only about two months apart," revealing his birthday as November 28, 1986, while Lee Seung-gi's is January 13, 1987.

Lee Seung-gi shared, "I went to school with those born in 1986 and entered university in 2005." Joo Woo-jae mentioned he was a 2006 class due to retaking exams. Lee Seung-gi added, "In the entertainment industry, I've met a few friends born in 1987." Joo Woo-jae asked what he would do if someone didn't acknowledge the 'early' birth year.

Lee Seung-gi explained, "Before me, there were no precedents, but among my 1987 friends, quite a few are friends with those born in 1986." He recalled, "During my military service, I was selected for the Ground Forces Festival, and Yunho from TVXQ, born in 1986 but considered 'early,' was friends with those born in 1985."

He continued, "Super Junior's Eunhyuk, born in April 1986, is friends with Shindong, born in 1985. So, even though Eunhyuk and Yunho, both 'early' 1986, break the hierarchy, it's not awkward."

Joo Woo-jae commented, "But I feel like Lee Seung-gi is more like an older brother," reminiscing about 2004 when Lee Seung-gi's song 'Because You're My Woman' was popular. "I couldn't believe we were the same age," he joked, "I felt defeated twice, once at 13 by BoA and again at 19 by Lee Seung-gi."

Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi recently announced cutting ties with his wife Lee Da-in's family. His father-in-law is accused of inflating stock prices with false disclosures about Chinese capital investments. Lee Seung-gi stated, "I cannot contain my dismay over my father-in-law's misconduct. This incident has irreparably damaged family trust, and after much deliberation, my wife and I have decided to sever ties with her family."
