god Reveals They Took Over a Variety Show Originally Meant for H.O.T.
During the show, Kim Tae-woo shared news about producing a girl group, stating, "Seven members are currently in training, aiming for a debut in the second half of the year." He added, "My eldest daughter is 13, and the trainees are around her age. As a parent, I feel a heavy responsibility to help them achieve their dreams."
Kang Ho-dong comforted Kim by saying, "If your girl group succeeds, they'll regret not investing," to which Kim humorously replied, "I won't even take their calls then."
Reflecting on god's journey from debut to present, their first album's title track 'To Mother' was mentioned. Unlike other idols at the time who focused on social resistance themes, god's song centered on family and emotions. Lee Sang-min, who produced for the group Shop, recalled, "I was nervous hearing god was debuting, but after listening to 'To Mother,' I felt relieved. Not many thought it would succeed."
He continued, "Our manager, who was close to H.O.T., was present at the time. As soon as they declined, he pitched us by saying, 'We'll even appear in our underwear.'" Danny Ahn added, "In fact, Joon Park did appear in just his underwear."
When asked if raising children was difficult, 'Mother King' Son Ho-young admitted, "It started as a one-time shoot, but after becoming a regular segment, it was tough. We had no breaks between over ten schedules."
