Comedian Hong Hyun-hee candidly acknowledged her ADHD and shared her parenting concerns regarding her son.

On the 7th, the YouTube channel 'Hong Hyun-hee and Jay Written's Hongssun TV' released a video titled "Confirmed ADHD... Consulted with a Johns Hopkins Professor."

In the video, Hong Hyun-hee revealed during a consultation with an expert, "I was curious if I had ADHD because I tend to be very restless, and my temperament test showed 99% for stimulus seeking. Hearing from an expert that I have ADHD was honestly empowering."

The expert advised on key points in her relationship with her child, stating, "A child with ADHD is special and should not be confined to a mold. There should be rules, but it's important to respect and support the child's interests and curiosity."

Hong Hyun-hee shared her personal experience, saying, "I can't stand boredom; it makes me feel physically ill." She added, "My son Junbeom seems to have inherited my tendency for stimulus seeking. These days, if something is slightly uninteresting, he says 'I'm bored.' He can't endure boredom," highlighting the realistic challenges she faces in parenting.

The expert responded, "It's about balancing satisfaction and frustration. If you give in every time they say they're bored, it only provides satisfaction. In psychology, striving to be a 'perfect mother' is not beneficial. Instead, aim to be a 'good enough mother' who provides love and stability, allowing the child to grow. It's important to provide healthy frustration."

Finally, after taking an ADHD test, Hong Hyun-hee resolved, "I kept denying that I had ADHD, but now I must accept it," sharing her honest self-reflection and practical parenting concerns with viewers.
