K-Pop Star Kim Jaejoong Discusses 'Death Note' and the Origin of L's Name
The video features musical 'Death Note' cast members Cho Hyung-kyun, Kim Sung-kyu, Kim Min-seok, and Tang Jun-sang. During a discussion about 'Death Note,' Kim Sung-kyu mentioned the theme of 'justice.' He explained, "L and Light both claim 'I am justice' as they face off against each other." Kim Jaejoong then asked Kim Sung-kyu, "But isn't there a real L among your members?"
Kim Sung-kyu responded, "After playing L in 'Death Note,' I talked to that friend. I was curious about his reaction, expecting him to say, 'Wow, you're L too, that's amazing,' but he just said, 'Oh, I saw it.'" Kim Jaejoong added, "I heard there's an original L." Kim Sung-kyu clarified, "The original manga was released in 2004, and Infinite debuted in 2010."
Kim Jaejoong concluded, "Looking back, it's fortunate that he got the name L." Kim Sung-kyu added, "It suits good-looking guys." Kim Jaejoong humorously remarked, "But aren't you L now too?" eliciting laughter. Infinite's L is known by his real name, Kim Myung-soo.
