Fake Marriage Exposed: Tensions Rise in 'Would You Marry Me?'

Seo Bum-june has finally uncovered the truth about Jung So-min and Choi Woo-shik's fake marriage.

In the latest episode of SBS's 'Would You Marry Me?' (directed by Song Hyun-wook, Hwan In-hyuk/written by Lee Ha-na), aired on the 1st, Kim Woo-joo (played by Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Merry (played by Jung So-min) confirmed their feelings for each other and began a secret romance. However, Kim Woo-joo's former fiancé, Seo Bum-june, became aware of their relationship.

During the episode, Kim Woo-joo shared his past of losing his parents in an accident and studying abroad alone, saying, "I learned how to live well on my own since then." Yoo Merry responded, "I remember," referring to a drink left at the door on her father's memorial day, realizing their childhood memories were connected. Kim Woo-joo promised, "I'll be your lighthouse," and carried Yoo Merry through a field of reeds, sealing their feelings with a kiss.

Later, Kim Woo-joo spent the night at Yoo Merry's house and had a meal with her mother, Oh Young-sook (played by Yoon Bok-in). When Oh Young-sook mentioned her daughter's divorce, Kim Woo-joo firmly stated, "That's not a problem at all," earning her trust. He also visited Yoo Merry's father's memorial park, expressing gratitude, "I'm Kim Woo-joo, saved thanks to you," and offered a heartfelt greeting. Oh Young-sook smiled, "The boy you saved grew up so well," calling her husband a matchmaker.

The thrill of their secret romance continued at work. During a meeting, Kim Woo-joo secretly messaged Yoo Merry, flustering her. After the meeting, he playfully said, "Who told you to be so pretty? Don't dress up too much; it's distracting," and kissed her cheek. Yoo Merry laughed, "Stop texting during meetings; it makes me nervous," adding to the lighthearted atmosphere.

However, their happiness was short-lived. Yoo Merry was invited to the home of Kim Woo-joo's grandmother, Go Pil-nyeon (played by Jung Ae-ri), the chairwoman of Myungsoondang, and was unsettled by her words, "I don't associate with those who deceive others for personal gain." Rumors also spread at the company about a marriage proposal between Kim Woo-joo and the daughter of Go Pil-nyeon's doctor, adding to the confusion.

Meanwhile, Yoon Jin-kyung (played by Shin Seul-ki) struggled with her unrequited love for Kim Woo-joo, and Baek Sang-hyun (played by Bae Na-ra) comforted her, suggesting, "Let's run together." After running, Yoon Jin-kyung tearfully admitted, "I childishly interfered," and "It's become a mess," evoking sympathy. At the end of the episode, Yoo Merry's former fiancé, Kim Woo-joo, appeared with a marriage certificate, revealing their secret, "Did you have fun with your fake marriage life?"
