Jang Yoon-ju Shines in 'Good Woman Busemi' with a Riveting Villain Role
Jang Yoon-ju is receiving rave reviews from viewers for her portrayal of a new kind of villain in the Genie TV original series 'Good Woman Busemi'.
In the series, Jang plays Ga Sun-young, a ruthless psychopath who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. When she faces the threat of losing Chairman Ga's inheritance to Kim Young-ran (played by Jeon Yeo-bin), she goes as far as hiring a hitman to kill Young-ran. The plot thickens as she conspires with Young-ran's mother, Kim So-young (played by So Hee-jung), and Kim Kyo-bong (played by Shin Moon-sung) to stage a murder, showcasing her relentless evil deeds.
Jang Yoon-ju's dramatic transformation into a villainous character has become more pronounced with each episode. As a theater and film professor, she uses psychological drama therapy in prison to recruit Gil Ho-se, revealing her true nature behind a facade of kindness. Her manipulation of Ho-se with the word 'devil' heightens the show's intensity.
Jang masterfully switches her expressions and tone, displaying the true nature of a psychopath devoid of guilt. Her ability to change her speech patterns adds depth to her character, making her performance all the more convincing. Particularly, her role in the thriller genre within the series showcases her ability to maintain narrative balance with her intense acting.
Known for her charming and humorous appeal, Jang Yoon-ju has delighted audiences with her versatility across genres, from comedy to action and now villainy. Her expanding filmography and ability to embody diverse characters continue to raise expectations for her future endeavors.
'Good Woman Busemi' airs on ENA every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM. It is exclusively available as free VOD on KT Genie TV right after the broadcast and can be streamed on the OTT platform TVING.
