Lawyer and broadcaster Seo Dong-joo has opened up about her feelings following the passing of her father, Seo Se-won.

On the 17th, a video titled "Dad's Death, Mom's Cancer Battle... How She Loves Life Amidst Failures and Frustrations" was uploaded on Park Wi's channel 'Wiracle'.

In the video, Seo Dong-joo recalled, "I think I had a good family environment when I was young. We were affluent, and my parents got along well." She added, "Things took a turn in 2002 when my father went to a detention center and became a completely different person."

Seo Dong-joo mentioned her father, Seo Se-won, who passed away in Cambodia in 2023, saying, "I was in shock when my father passed away. I didn't know what to feel. I'm usually someone who suppresses emotions, so I felt a sense of emptiness. It made me realize that a person can disappear in an instant." She shared that after Seo Se-won's passing, "I didn't cry often, but I cried a lot then and felt very upset."

Previously, on the 12th, Seo Dong-joo candidly expressed her feelings about the late Seo Se-won during a 'Sebasi Lecture', confessing, "When I think of my father, I have mixed feelings of love and hate. I love him so much, but I also resent him. I don't want to be like him, yet I find similarities. I tried not to hate him by writing about these feelings."

Seo Se-won married Seo Jung-hee in 1982, becoming a beloved celebrity couple of their time. However, they divorced in 2015, with Seo Se-won's violence during the divorce process causing a significant social controversy. He later remarried a woman 23 years his junior in 2016 and moved to Cambodia, where he reportedly started a business. Seo Se-won passed away at the age of 67 on April 20, 2023, in a hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after suffering cardiac arrest while receiving an IV.
