Former KBS Announcer Kim Jae-won Returns to TV with 'You Quiz on the Block' Appearance

Former KBS announcer Kim Jae-won is set to reconnect with viewers after a long hiatus.

On the 15th, a preview of Kim Jae-won's appearance was revealed at the end of the tvN show 'You Quiz on the Block'.

Kim Jae-won, who joined KBS in 1995 as part of the 21st open recruitment, has hosted various programs, including 'Morning Yard', for nearly 30 years. He stepped down from his role as an MC on 'Morning Yard' in July, marking the end of his 12-year tenure.

During the broadcast, Kim shared his reasons for leaving the company he had been with for so long. He expressed, "Having worked at KBS for 30 years, I felt a sense of emptiness as if I lost my identity after resigning."

After retiring from KBS, Kim Jae-won embarked on a new chapter as a freelance broadcaster. He candidly spoke about his new goals, saying, "Now, I look at 'conditions' rather than 'relationships'. In the past, personal connections came first, but these days, I find myself asking, 'Do they pay or not?'"

Kim also expressed his interest in educational programs like 'Knowledge Channel' and travel shows, showcasing his continued passion for broadcasting.

He shared his philosophy, drawing from his extensive broadcasting experience, saying, "In the story of Rome, it is said that Rome fell because the thoughts of Rome and Romans diverged." Yoo Jae-suk, the host, was impressed, commenting, "The depth of your stories is different."

Previously, in July, Kim Jae-won bid farewell to 'Morning Yard' on KBS1TV, saying, "I ask for your understanding as I leave a year earlier. I will continue to spread positive influence and warm comfort in a broader world." He added, "Life is compared to the four seasons, and it inevitably repeats. I start anew with the belief that spring will bloom again for me."

Meanwhile, tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' will air on the 22nd at 8:45 PM.
