Choi Woo-shik Discusses His Role as a Heir in New Drama 'Uju Marry Me'

On the 10th, a press conference for the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Uju Marry Me' was held at the SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Song Hyun-wook and actors Choi Woo-shik, Jung So-min, Bae Na-ra, Shin Seul-gi, and Seo Beom-jun.
'Uju Marry Me' is a romantic comedy that depicts the sweet yet fierce 90-day fake marriage of a couple trying to secure a 5 billion won luxury newlywed home.
Choi Woo-shik takes on the role of Kim Woo-ju, the only heir to Korea's first bakery, Myungsundang, and a promising marketing team leader. In the drama, Kim Woo-ju returns to Korea after graduating with honors from an MBA program and gaining practical experience at a consulting firm in New York.
Returning to romantic comedy after three years since 'Our Beloved Summer,' Choi Woo-shik commented, "Both characters have parts of me in them, but I think I have more in common with Choi Woong from 'Our Beloved Summer.' Woo-ju is the wealthiest character I've played so far. I used to always be on the run, but this time I drive nice cars and sleep in beautiful places. You'll get to see a cool side of me."
He added, "I jokingly called myself the 'prince of rom-coms,' but I don't have much experience in this genre. I tried to imagine doing it less comically and more stylishly than before."
'Uju Marry Me' premieres on the 10th at 9:50 PM.
