Former Swimmer Park Tae-hwan Credits Mother's Meals for His Success

On the October 3rd episode of KBS2TV's 'New Release, Pyeon Restaurant,' Park's mother, Yoo Seong-mi, showcased a 16-dish 'gold medal' meal she prepared for her son.
During the broadcast, Park shared the dishes his mother used to make during his swimming career and gave a glimpse into their refrigerator. Yoo Seong-mi prepared a protein-rich diet for Park, even when he was injured and in a cast during a competition in Brisbane, Australia.
Park stated, "Since I was an athlete, my mom prepared a protein-focused diet for me. She made grilled fish more than three times and prepared a variety of side dishes, more than six in total."

Her dedication to her son extended beyond meal preparation. Even after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Yoo Seong-mi continued to support Park. She shared, "I wore a wig to hide my chemotherapy from him and even went to the National Sports Festival in Jeju. Watching his games was my greatest happiness," she said, moving the audience.
