Unexpected Connection Between Lee Sun-bin and Kim Young-dae Revealed in 'To The Moon'

On the 27th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'To The Moon' (directed by Oh Da-young, Jung Hoon/written by Na Yoon-chae), episode 4 titled 'The Reason to Become Rich' depicted the moments when 'Munanis' Jung Da-hae (played by Lee Sun-bin), Kang Eun-sang (played by Ra Mi-ran), and Kim Ji-song (played by Jo Ah-ram) faced their past wounds and deficiencies.
During this process, Jung Da-hae found herself caught in an unexpected whirlwind after a night with 'Hambaksa' Ham Ji-woo (played by Kim Young-dae), heightening the tension of the drama.
Having moved into a new home, Jung Da-hae felt a brief sense of pride but swallowed her bitterness at the reality of not being able to freely hammer a nail into the wall. On her way to work, she was shocked to see herself in the news about a motel fire. Although her face was blurred, viewers quickly recognized her, and rumors spread to her workplace, causing her distress.
Meanwhile, Kang Eun-sang and Kim Ji-song confronted their past traumas. Kang Eun-sang was engulfed in sorrow as she recalled her daughter Kim Ji-sang's (played by Ki So-yoo) kindergarten bus accident. Kim Ji-song shared her childhood experiences of living with a mother involved in a cult and a father who left home, vowing, "I will only allow beautiful things in my life," as a promise from her younger days.
At the same time, Jung Da-hae, on her way home from work, recalled the night of the motel fire. She remembered doodling playfully on the arm of a sleeping Hambaksa. Before the fire, the two had met by chance at a karaoke. Drawn by the sound of her singing from the next room, Hambaksa opened the door to find Da-hae. Da-hae confessed that she endured tough times by listening to his music, to which Hambaksa responded, "I'm thrilled that my music saved someone," expressing his overwhelming emotions. Their heightened emotions led to a passionate kiss, and a fire broke out at the motel they went to afterward.

Previously, episode 2 ended with an unexpected 'forehead bump' between Jung Da-hae and Hambaksa. At a company dinner, Hambaksa, seemingly bothered by the song Da-hae sang, asked her how she knew it. Da-hae, feeling emotional, retorted, "Are you going to judge my taste now?" When Hambaksa said, "Try harder next time..." Da-hae, irritated by the word 'harder,' exclaimed, "I won't try hard!" and bumped her forehead against his.
The episode's epilogue revealed an unexpected past connection between Jung Da-hae and Hambaksa. During her school days, Da-hae, whose family was struggling financially, participated in a sponsorship program, worried her friends might find out. However, all attention shifted to Hambaksa, who ruined his performance with a pitch mistake on stage. Their connection had already begun back then.
The reason the 'Munanis' dream of becoming 'rich' is not grandiose. It's about living a life where they can freely hammer a nail into the wall, throw away used toothpaste, and not have to lick yogurt lids. It's a simple yet vivid desire for a better tomorrow than today.
