Kim Jaejoong Moved to Tears by Mother's Heartfelt Diary on 'Fun-Staurant'

Singer Kim Jaejoong was brought to tears after reading his mother's heartfelt writings.

On the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's 'Fun-Staurant' (directed by Yoon Byung-il), the second part of the Chuseok special 'Mom's Touch' will be aired. National filial son and culinary genius Kim Jaejoong, eternal marine boy Park Tae-hwan, and national trot goddess Song Ga-in will join as chef contestants, showcasing their cooking skills alongside their talented mothers to create special dishes. The episode will reveal the heartfelt sincerity of mothers that all children can relate to and be moved by.

In the VCR segment, Kim Jaejoong attempts to learn his mother's anti-cancer meal recipes. A few years ago, Kim's father was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent arduous chemotherapy. Kim's mother studied and prepared various ingredients known for their anti-cancer properties to cook for her husband. Even after the treatment, Kim's father continued to eat his wife's anti-cancer meals and eventually received a clean bill of health. He expressed gratitude, saying, "She did everything good for my health. I only ate what she made. Thanks to her, I survived." On this day, Kim Jaejoong learned these precious recipes, filled with his mother's dedication, and cooked them himself.

As the family sat together to enjoy the 'anti-cancer meal' they prepared, Kim's mother cautiously brought out a caregiving diary she kept during her husband's illness. The diary was filled with her continued writings and poems. Kim Jaejoong was overwhelmed by his mother's words, seeing them for the first time. Despite the clumsy handwriting, the diary contained her honest feelings, the sadness of nearing the end of her life at eighty, and her deep love for her husband and family. Particularly moved by one passage, Kim Jaejoong remarked, "It's so sad," as tears fell. Watching the VCR, Song Ga-in was touched by Kim's mother's writings and commented, "She should definitely publish a poetry book."
