Super Junior's Kim Heechul recently opened up about his younger days, describing them as a 'dark past.'

In a video titled 'Reborn as Super Junior VS Billionaire Bum' on composer Yoon Il-sang's YouTube channel 'Producer Yoon Il-sang iLSang TV,' Kim Heechul shared insights into his life as an idol.

Yoon Il-sang asked Kim about his early days in the industry, noting, "When you debuted, it wasn't as exposed as it is now, right?" Kim responded, "I joined SM Entertainment in the winter of 2002 when I was 20 and used to go to nightclubs every day. I originally admired rock bands and was part of SM's rock team."

Kim Heechul continued, "I practiced with Trax's Jay and Jungmo, but I didn't listen to my trainer and frequented nightclubs, idolizing the lifestyle of rock stars without knowing much about rock itself. Then I debuted as an idol with Super Junior, which was different from the life I had lived."

He added, "As an idol, you always have to be careful. I wasn't great at singing like Oasis, but I had their mindset. When asked about my ideal type, I'd joke, 'I care more about the body because I'll always be prettier than the face.'"

Kim Heechul reflected, "I was just a crazy guy back then, and I want to erase all of that." Yoon Il-sang asked, "How old were you then?" Kim replied, "Everyone around me praised me, saying I was handsome and pretty, which made me arrogant. I didn't realize it would all become a dark past."
