Former 4Minute Members Reveal Behind-the-Scenes Stories 9 Years After Disbandment

Nine years after the disbandment of the popular K-pop girl group 4Minute, former members have shared behind-the-scenes stories.

On October 24, Kwon So-hyun's YouTube channel 'Admission Ticket Kwon So-hyun' uploaded a video titled 'Why Did You Do That Back Then? | Ji-yoon's Perspective & Unreleased Dance Video (Jeon Ji-yoon × Kwon So-hyun)'.

In the video, Kwon So-hyun and Jeon Ji-yoon opened up about the events surrounding 4Minute's disbandment. Jeon Ji-yoon described the most challenging time as "the 1-2 years after the disbandment. It was a period when I completely lost my sense of belonging. We were suddenly informed that we were no longer a group. The feeling of losing that sense of belonging was the hardest part. It was a time of despair."

Kwon So-hyun also recalled the situation, saying, "When the five of us gathered, I once said, 'I'm not sure about my decision to renew the contract. I'm still thinking about it.' Then, when we received the disbandment notice, I thought, 'I've never even had a conversation with the CEO, so why is this happening to us now? Wait a minute.' It felt like the world was collapsing. I remember riding in a car with Ji-yoon."

Jeon Ji-yoon joked, "It felt like going to catch an ex-boyfriend, like a heroine with lingering feelings." Kwon So-hyun added, "I've never even gone to an ex-boyfriend's house, but the sudden end of the team left a huge void."

The two also discussed the possibility of a 4Minute reunion. Jeon Ji-yoon cautiously stated, "I think it would be fun if we got together, but a lot of time has passed. We've all had our own lives and time apart. Would it be the same as before? That's a concern."

4Minute was a girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2009, featuring HyunA, who had previously left Wonder Girls, along with Nam Ji-hyun, Jeon Ji-yoon, Heo Ga-yoon, and Kwon So-hyun. The group officially disbanded in June 2016, with only HyunA renewing her contract at the time.
