Actor Jo Jae-yun has revealed the reason behind his impressive collection of 12 certifications.

On the 24th, the fourth episode of TV CHOSUN's variety show 'My Way - Over-Immersion Club(내 멋대로 - 과몰입클럽)' featured the daily life of actor Jo Jae-yun, known for his intense dedication to his roles.

During the episode, Jo Jae-yun shared behind-the-scenes stories from his appearance in the popular drama 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.' Despite taking a pay cut for his special appearance, he dedicated himself to mastering Chinese, cooking, and martial arts to portray the Ming Dynasty chef Dang Baek-ryong. He spent three and a half months preparing for the role, offering insight into the secret behind his acclaimed performance.

Known as a 'professional over-immerser,' Jo Jae-yun also immerses himself in acquiring certifications. He holds 12 certifications, including those for operating excavators, large trailers, boats, emergency vehicles, and ships, as well as a Korean cooking license. He is currently working towards obtaining a helicopter pilot license, surprising everyone with his dedication.

Thanks to his Korean cooking certification, Jo Jae-yun was able to personally film complex knife scenes in 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.' He also revealed that he used his excavator certification to volunteer during wildfires in Goseong and Andong, earning admiration.

Jo Jae-yun finds solace in his certifications. He visited Soyado with his college friend and fellow actor Yun Seo-hyun, where he piloted a boat for fishing and cooking. In a candid moment, he shared with Yun Seo-hyun that he pursues certifications as a form of retirement planning, saying, 'I see myself with fewer roles.' He added, 'Everything is for survival. I want my son to remember me as a cool dad who never gave up on challenges for the family,' adding an emotional touch.
