Tension Rises in 'Queen Mantis' as Cha Soo-yeol Faces His Dark Legacy
In the latest episode of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Queen Mantis,' Cha Soo-yeol, played by Jang Dong-yoon, reveals his shocking lineage as the son of a murderer.

In the episode aired on the 20th, Cha Soo-yeol sought help from Jung Yi-shin, played by Ko Hyun-jung, after the prime suspect in a copycat murder, Park Min-jae, was killed by the real culprit. He vowed to think and act like Jung Yi-shin but ultimately failed to catch the true murderer.

As Cha Soo-yeol's identity was unveiled, the investigation team was thrown into chaos. Kim Na-hee, played by Lee El, demanded, "Please leave our team," expressing her shock. Cha Soo-yeol then revealed, "Yes, this woman is my mother. Are you worried that my relationship with Jung Yi-shin as mother and son will affect the investigation?" unleashing his pent-up emotions.

The most shocking moment came when Cha Soo-yeol confessed the truth to his wife, Lee Jung-yeon. He revealed, "The serial killer Mantis is my mother. Jung Yi-shin was arrested when I was 11 for brutally murdering five people, and we met again after 23 years." He continued, "Jung-yeon, I know you want to have a child, but I'm terrified. I feel like the blood of the monster who gave birth to me, Jung Yi-shin, flows through my veins," expressing his fear and guilt.

In the preview for the next episode, tension rises as Lee Jung-yeon is seen rejoicing over a pregnancy test, despite Cha Soo-yeol's reluctance to have a child.
