Drama 'Confidence Queen' Debuts with High-Octane Thrills and Star Power

Premiering on Saturday, the first episode of TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Confidence Queen' delivered a perfect blend of thrilling narratives and cliffhanger endings, providing viewers with an exhilarating start.

In the debut episode, the 'Confidence Man Team'—comprising Yoon Yi-rang (Park Min-young), James (Park Hee-soon), and Myung Goo-ho (Joo Jong-hyuk)—successfully con a fraudulent shaman, Baek-hwa (Song Ji-hyo), out of her money. Their next target is Jeon Tae-soo (Jung Woong-in), a public foundation chairman who is secretly a legendary loan shark.

The episode kicks off with Yoon Yi-rang's bold declaration, "I invite you to my world!" as the team sets out to teach a lesson to those who exploit others. They manipulate Baek-hwa into a private casino, where Myung Goo-ho, posing as Kim Deok-pil, and James, disguised as a dealer, help orchestrate a rigged game.

Yoon Yi-rang, playing the casino boss Hwa-ran, offers Baek-hwa a high-stakes deal, leading to a chaotic scene where Baek-hwa discovers her stolen money replaced with talismans. Meanwhile, Myung Goo-ho decides to leave the team for a quieter life, only to be drawn back into action when James is injured during a solo mission against Jeon Tae-soo.

Determined to avenge James, Yoon Yi-rang learns of Jeon Tae-soo's plan to smuggle cash overseas and devises a new strategy. She infiltrates Rising Airline as a stewardess, while Myung Goo-ho poses as the airline chairman's illegitimate son to gain Jeon Tae-soo's trust.

The tension escalates as Jeon Tae-soo discovers the switched luggage filled with cash, leading to a dramatic confrontation where he demands to know Myung Goo-ho's true identity.
