Go Hyun-jung Returns to SBS Drama After 7 Years with 'Mantis: The Murderer's Outing'
Actress Go Hyun-jung has shared her thoughts on returning to an SBS drama after a seven-year hiatus following her departure from 'Return'.

On the 4th, a press conference for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Mantis: The Murderer's Outing' (hereafter 'Mantis') was held at the SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Byun Young-joo, Go Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, Jo Sung-ha, and Lee El.

'Mantis' is a high-density crime thriller that unfolds as a copycat crime occurs 20 years after the capture of the brutal serial killer known as Mantis. To solve the case, a detective unexpectedly collaborates with his mother, the Mantis he has despised all his life. Go Hyun-jung takes on the role of Jung Yi-shin, the serial killer who brutally murdered five men and earned the nickname 'Mantis'.

Go Hyun-jung returns to an SBS drama for the first time in seven years since her departure from 'Return'. At that time, Go Hyun-jung was embroiled in rumors of discord with the production team, leading to allegations of power abuse. Rumors circulated that she assaulted the PD, ultimately resulting in her exit from 'Return'. Park Jin-hee was urgently brought in as a replacement.

On this day, Go Hyun-jung remarked, "This spot at SBS Mok-dong brings back memories not only of that project ('Return') but also of many others before it. It's a place filled with many memories."

She continued, "It's been a very long time since I've been to SBS Mok-dong. Perhaps because I'm older now, all those memories came flooding back, and I thought, 'That's how it was back then.' As I entered this place, I only remembered how intense it was. I didn't really think about it being a long time since I returned to SBS. I'm just happy and excited to greet everyone with a new project, and I'm glad that project is 'Mantis'."
