Former basketball player Hyun Joo-yeob has revealed his drastically slimmed-down appearance, sharing an update on his current situation.

He candidly admitted for the first time that following last year's allegations of negligence and abuse of power, his entire family faced such difficult times that they all required psychiatric treatment.

On the 4th, Hyun Joo-yeob posted a video titled "I'll Just Say Everything" on his channel. He stated, "After the controversy, I lived in seclusion, and I was very upset and angry about the impact on my children." He continued, "I would be happy to apologize if there was something to apologize for. But isn't it not true?" He expressed frustration, noting, "The Press Arbitration Commission even ordered media outlets to issue corrections, proving it wasn't true, but people don't care."

Recently, Hyun Joo-yeob returned to YouTube broadcasting but had not previously addressed the controversial incidents. The production team provided him with an opportunity to apologize or explain.

He shared, "After the controversy, my entire family attended psychiatric sessions. My son was hospitalized for several months, and my wife and I were also admitted. Due to depression and health issues, I sometimes ate only one meal a day or lost my appetite." He revealed, "I lost nearly 30kg, which surprised even the doctor. My wife, who wasn't in the 40kg range, dropped to 46 or 47kg."

When the production team mentioned comments about his speech being slurred, Hyun Joo-yeob explained, "If I don't consistently take my medication, my mood swings become severe, and it could lead to extreme situations," detailing his health condition.

Last year, Hyun Joo-yeob faced allegations of neglecting his duties as the basketball coach at Whimoon High School due to external commitments. The controversy expanded to include accusations of negligence, dual employment, abuse of power, and even favoritism towards his son, severely impacting his image.

Hyun Joo-yeob's representatives later stated, "The media outlet that initially reported the allegations against Coach Hyun Joo-yeob issued a correction following mediation by the Press Arbitration Commission, confirming that 'the lack of working hours was compensated through alternative work,' and that the allegations of dual employment and negligence were not true."
