Jun Ji-hyun Expresses Delight Working with Handsome Co-stars in Disney+ Series 'Tempest'
On September 2, a press conference for 'Tempest' was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul. The event was attended by directors Kim Hee-won and Heo Myung-haeng, along with cast members Jun Ji-hyun, Kang Dong-won, Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Kim Hae-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-hee, and Joo Jong-hyuk.
'Tempest' follows the story of Seo Moon-joo, a former UN ambassador who decides to run for president after her husband, a leading presidential candidate, is shot. She teams up with Baek San-ho, a mysterious special agent, to uncover the truth behind the incident and confront a massive threat to the Korean Peninsula.
Jun Ji-hyun plays Seo Moon-joo, who is determined to uncover the truth behind her husband Jang Joon-ik's assassination attempt. Kang Dong-won stars as Baek San-ho, the enigmatic special agent assigned to protect her.
Jun Ji-hyun shared her reasons for joining the project, saying, “I was eager to work on a project by director Kim Hee-won and writer Jung Seo-kyung.” She added with a laugh, “I also wanted to work with Kang Dong-won before I got any older.” She described her character Seo Moon-joo as “quiet, sociable, and bold.”
Jun Ji-hyun admitted, “I’ve been a long-time fan of Kang Dong-won. It’s true that I chose this project because I wanted to work with him. Getting to know him better during filming made me an even bigger fan. His portrayal of San-ho brought more synergy to my role as Moon-joo.”
She also mentioned frequently complimenting Park Hae-joon on his looks, saying, “Whenever I told him he was handsome, he always had a nonchalant expression.” She added, “Every time I saw him, I’d say, ‘You look handsome today too.’ His great personality made filming comfortable.”
Reflecting on her experience working with Kang Dong-won and Park Hae-joon, Jun Ji-hyun said, “It was a happy set, whether I looked this way or that. I was wide-eyed with joy on set.”
'Tempest' is set to premiere on Disney+ on September 10.
