KBS 'Back to the Music' Returns with Season 2 Featuring Ballad Legend Byun Jin-sub

KBS's 'Songcumentary Back to the Music' is making a comeback with its second season, continuing to explore the stories behind timeless hits. The first episode will feature Byun Jin-sub, who will reflect on his 38-year-long music career.

The revamped 'Back to the Music' will air on KBS1 every Sunday night, bringing viewers a fresh take on beloved songs.

The premiere episode of Season 2 will spotlight Byun Jin-sub, known as the 'Emperor of Ballads.' With hits like 'To Be Alone,' 'Back to You Again,' and 'Wish List,' Byun will share the untold stories behind these classics and his personal philosophy on music. Despite his polished image, Byun reveals a more rugged journey in the music industry, sharing anecdotes of his rise to fame, including humorous tales of being showered with bread and milk by fans.

The episode was filmed at a significant location where Byun's musical journey began, offering a heartfelt live performance that moved the audience.

Friends and key figures in Byun's life made appearances during the recording, adding warmth to the episode. In return, Byun prepared special gifts for them.

'Back to the Music' originally aired from 2020 to 2023, and Season 2 will continue with hosts So Chan-whee and Shin Yoo. Director Choi Soo-yeon, who also led Season 1, expressed the pressure of meeting high expectations for the new season. "We have put our utmost effort into making Season 2 as beloved as the first," she said, encouraging viewers to tune in.
