Child Influencer's Anxiety: A Deep Dive into Separation Anxiety and Family Dynamics

On the 29th, Channel A's 'Parenting These Days - My Golden Kids' featured an influencer mom and a bodybuilder dad raising their second-grade son.
During the episode, Dr. Oh Eun-young observed the child, who was visibly anxious and followed his mother everywhere. She explained, "This is not just simple separation anxiety. It's a childhood anxiety disorder. He possesses all the anxieties a child can have."

The mother confessed, "He always wants to be by my side. I'm considering quitting my business out of guilt." Dr. Oh responded, "A second grader should be able to manage their anxiety. His current anxiety level is so high that it's severely affecting his daily life. He shows signs of selective mutism and needs professional help, including medication."

Dr. Oh noted, "The mother tries to combat her anxiety through exercise and appearing strong, but it could all unravel with a single trigger. She empathizes with her child's anxiety rather than just understanding it, creating a vicious cycle."
Dr. Oh advised, "If Geumjok doesn't receive treatment soon, he may become overwhelmed by external stimuli and could potentially become reclusive."
