Kim Ji-hun Shines in Amazon Prime's 'Butterfly' with a Captivating Performance

Actor Kim Ji-hun has once again proven his status as a reliable actor through his role in 'Butterfly.' His character, adorned with full-body tattoos, captivates visually.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the Amazon Prime Video series 'Butterfly' follows the story of David Jung (played by Daniel Dae Kim), a former U.S. intelligence officer whose life falls apart due to a critical choice. He becomes the target of current agent Rebecca (played by Reina Hardesty), who is ordered to eliminate him. Set in Korea, this American drama has garnered attention for its Korean backdrop and the performances of Korean actors.

In the episode aired on the 23rd on tvN, Kim Ji-hun made a striking first appearance as the cold and skilled killer 'Gun.' Disguised as a repairman, he leaves a chilling impression by assassinating his target and casually eating an orange afterward.

Gun is shocked to learn from Juno (played by Piper Perabo) that David is still alive. Tasked with eliminating David, Gun's expression shifts intriguingly, and his line, "I always enjoy a challenge," sets the tone for the series. Kim Ji-hun delivers a strong presence with his fluent English, cold demeanor, and restrained emotions.
