Korean Actor Choi Jung-won Denies Stalking Allegations Amid Police Investigation

The Seoul Central Police Department announced on the 19th that Choi was booked on the 16th for violating the Stalking Crime Punishment Act. The police also applied for an emergency restraining order, which was approved the day before. This order prohibits the perpetrator from approaching within 100 meters of the victim's residence or contacting them through electronic communication. Violating this order can result in a fine of up to 10 million won.

Despite Choi's denial, Dispatch reported that he could not accept his ex-girlfriend's breakup notice and repeatedly called her and sent threatening messages. Choi has yet to provide a detailed response to these claims.
Choi Jung-won has faced controversy in the past. In 2022, he was embroiled in rumors of an affair with a woman identified as A, leading to a lawsuit from A's husband, B, demanding damages of approximately 100 million won. B claimed that Choi's past relationship with his wife led to the breakdown of their marriage. Choi denied the affair, stating, "A was not a romantic partner before her marriage; she was a neighborhood friend I knew since childhood."
