Channel A's 'My Lovely Journey' Unveils Mysterious Fateful Connections in Hakodate

In the episode aired on the 17th, the drama (planned by Channel A, directed by Kang Sol, written by Jeong Hoe-hyun, produced by Big Ocean ENM) showcased an unpredictable tale of destined love during Kang Yeoreum's (played by Gong Seung-yeon) third proxy travel destination. The romance between Yeoreum and Lee Yeon-seok (played by Kim Jae-young) also deepened, capturing viewers' hearts.
Yeoreum's journey to Hakodate, her first overseas trip and third proxy travel destination, was filled with excitement and tension from the start. While nervously riding a tram, she found herself in the same space as Sato Haruko (played by Tomosaka Rie). As Yeoreum almost missed her stop while exchanging messages with Yeon-seok, she hurriedly got off, dropping her hair tie, which Haruko picked up, marking the beginning of their connection. This moment intertwined with a past scene where a 20-something Haruko dropped her hair tie in front of the burning Sungnyemun 10 years ago, picked up by a 20-something Young-hoon, hinting at a mysterious fateful link.

Throughout her travels, Yeoreum kept crossing paths with Haruko. After a collision with Haruko on a bicycle, they shared lunch, and their connection extended into the evening. Amidst Hakodate's beautiful nightscape, they engaged in heartfelt conversations, growing closer. Haruko expressed longing for someone she wished to share her favorite scenery with, piquing curiosity about this person.
During their next stop at a food stall, Yeoreum witnessed Haruko secretly stealing a wallet from a neighboring customer (played by Fujii Mina), shocking her. Yeoreum returned to her hotel, unaware that Haruko was caught and nonchalantly returned the wallet, adding to the mystery. The customer's indifferent reaction further deepened the intrigue surrounding their relationship.

Yeon-seok's actions, like sending a playful selfie while carrying a drunken Oh Sang-sik (played by Yoo Jun-sang) home, signaled a clear green light for their relationship. Yeoreum's beaming smile upon receiving the message hinted at their budding mutual romance, raising viewers' heart rates. Yeon-seok's whispered "I miss you, Yeoreum" after a tiring day marked the beginning of 'Yeoreum fever.'
Yeon-seok's genuine friendship with Sang-sik was touching, enduring his karaoke performance and carrying him home, showcasing a strong bromance.
The episode's ending was full of surprises. Yeon-seok discovered Haruko in Yeoreum's Hakodate video, realizing their overlapping schedules. It was revealed that the doctor who requested Yeoreum's Hakodate trip was Cha Young-hoon (played by Ha Seok-jin), who loved Haruko 10 years ago. This revelation added layers to the tangled web of fate, unraveling mysterious connections throughout the Hakodate journey.
