Celebrating his 50th anniversary in broadcasting, renowned South Korean host Lim Sung-hoon shared a heartfelt family story that brought tears to his eyes.

On the October 13th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' Lim, often referred to as the nation's MC, appeared to discuss behind-the-scenes stories from his 26-year tenure on SBS's 'Unbelievable Stories' and his feelings a year after leaving the show.

During the broadcast, Lim opened up about the painful memories of not being able to be by his parents' side during their final moments. He recounted, "My mother always told me to prioritize broadcasting. The day before filming 'Unbelievable Stories,' I received news of her passing. Remembering her words, I completed the recording before flying to Canada. I cried all night, but I believed she would have applauded my decision."

He continued, "My father passed away while I was doing a live broadcast. By the time I finished, he was already gone. As a son, it was a grave mistake, but my mother was always proud of my work and insisted I prioritize it."

Reflecting on the final recording of 'Unbelievable Stories,' which ended last year, Lim said, "As I delivered my last lines, I choked up saying, 'This is truly my final farewell.' Park So-hyun helped wrap it up beautifully. After the show ended, I often found myself wandering near the broadcasting station, feeling empty."
