Netflix's 'Black and White Chef' Star Kim Mi-ryeong Challenges Culinary Masters on MBC's 'If You Rest, It's a Relief'

On the November 11th episode of MBC's 'If You Rest, It's a Relief,' Kim Mi-ryeong, also known as 'Imokase,' challenged the original chefs Lee Yeon-bok, Raymond Kim, and Jung Ho-young.
During the episode, the chefs, along with Kim Mi-ryeong, Han Ji-hye, Yoo Hee-kwan, and Nam Chang-hee, ventured to a deserted island. They caught various rare fish and meats to prepare for the opening of their island restaurant. Ahead of the restaurant's operation, Kim Mi-ryeong boldly declared, "I will surpass the original chefs," surprising everyone. Lee Yeon-bok, a master of Chinese cuisine, announced, "Even though I don't make dumplings for customers at my restaurant, today I will create a one-of-a-kind dumpling that can only be tasted on this deserted island."
Raymond Kim, representing Western cuisine, promised to craft a steak with the finest flavors, while Japanese cuisine expert Jung Ho-young aimed to make sushi with fresh ingredients. Meanwhile, Kim Mi-ryeong caught attention with her traditional Korean hanbok attire, prompting studio comments that "the food might taste better because she's wearing a hanbok."

Jung Ho-young added, "As a chef, it's expected, but if the dish doesn't turn out well, it could lead to criticism," and decided to observe. Kim Mi-ryeong, having secured all the ingredients, confidently stated, "20 to 30 minutes is enough." Jung Ho-young expressed skepticism, saying, "It's unrealistic for a newcomer on a deserted island to complete two dishes in 20 to 30 minutes," while Lee Yeon-bok agreed, "We'll have to see to believe it."
