Actor Kim Young-kwang Talks About His Role in Netflix's 'Trigger'

Recently, Kim Young-kwang, who plays the role of Moon Baek in Netflix's 'Trigger,' was interviewed at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
'Trigger' is a gun disaster action thriller set in South Korea, where illegal firearms are mysteriously delivered, leading to a series of gun-related incidents. The story follows two men who pick up guns for their own reasons. Moon Baek, portrayed by Kim Young-kwang, is a free-spirited character who unexpectedly teams up with Lee Do, played by Kim Nam-gil, in an unpredictable partnership.
Throughout the first half of the series, Moon Baek is depicted as a witty and charmingly loyal character. He delivers memorable lines such as 'Me? I'm Moon Baek~' and 'Moon Baek doesn't hold back.'
Kim Young-kwang admitted feeling awkward about referring to himself in the third person. Known for his introverted nature, he shared, 'The director was very insistent on those lines. They didn't really match my personality. Personally, I wasn't fond of them, but everyone seemed to love it,' he joked.
His sister's reaction was particularly enthusiastic. Kim Young-kwang added, 'My sister is also introverted and doesn't usually comment on my work, but she and her husband praised how cool I looked. She even said she would rewatch from episode 10 backwards.'
Meanwhile, 'Trigger' has received a warm reception, topping Netflix's 'Top 10 Series in South Korea' upon release and ranking 4th in the 'Global Top 10 Non-English Series' within just three days.
