Koo Jun-yup's Heartfelt Vigil at Late Seo Hee-won's Gravesite Moves Fans in Korea and Taiwan

On the 27th, it was reported that Koo visits the gravesite daily to pay his respects. By the 29th, photos emerged showing the gravestone with the English phrase "Remember Forever" and the Korean nickname 'Jun-jun,' which Seo affectionately used for Koo.
According to local netizens and media reports, Koo spends quiet time at the gravesite, sitting on a folding chair, reading books, or viewing images of Seo on his tablet. He is often seen tidying the area, placing flowers, and sometimes having a bowl of noodles by his side. When approached with words of comfort, he reportedly responds with "thank you" in Chinese.
Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday reported, "Even on rainy days, Koo visits Jinbaoshan Cemetery. It's unclear when he arrives, but he remains there from morning until we leave." They added, "Sometimes, it sounds like he's playing music. His silhouette appears very lonely."
A local resident shared a photo of Koo, describing him as "the kindest man I've ever seen." In the photo, Koo is seen consistently keeping watch over the gravesite, regardless of the weather.
Koo and Seo dated for about a year in 1998 before parting ways. Seo later married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei, with whom she had a son and a daughter. After hearing of Seo's divorce in 2021, Koo reached out, and the couple officially married in 2022.
Tragically, Seo passed away suddenly from acute pneumonia during a trip to Japan in February. Koo expressed his profound grief, stating he was "going through indescribable pain, as if his insides were being torn apart." He reportedly lost over 12kg and is currently in Taiwan, working on a memorial statue in Seo's honor.
