Chuu Returns to Acting After Six Years in New KBS Drama 'My Girlfriend is a Guy'

Chuu, the singer and actress, shared her thoughts on returning to acting after six years.

On the 23rd, an online press conference was held for KBS 2TV's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'My Girlfriend is a Guy'. The event was attended by actors Yoon Sanha, Arin, Yoo Jung-hoo, Chuu, and director Yoo Kwan-mo.

The drama 'My Girlfriend is a Guy' (written by Lee Hae-na, directed by Yoo Kwan-mo) is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by author Matstar. It tells the story of Kim Ji-eun (played by Arin), who suddenly becomes a handsome man, and her boyfriend Park Yoon-jae (played by Yoon Sanha), who can't give up on her.

In the drama, Chuu plays Kang Min-joo, a popular girl at Yeonhee University who secretly has a crush on Park Yoon-jae. Reflecting on her return to acting, Chuu said, "I'm nervous and excited to challenge myself with acting again after six years. It's my first time doing a serious drama, so I'm quite tense," adding, "The colleagues I'm acting with are around my age, and the characters are styles I really like, so I felt confident to take on the challenge."

Chuu further expressed, "The story felt very fresh and interesting. The character itself is someone I wanted to be during my school days, a popular girl, a queen bee, so it was attractive. I'm curious about Min-joo's process of having a crush on Yoon-jae, and I enjoy expressing what it would be like if I were a queen bee."

KBS 2TV's new drama 'My Girlfriend is a Guy' premieres on the 23rd at 9:50 PM.
