Korean broadcaster Ahn Sun-young has announced her decision to pause her 26-year broadcasting career and immigrate to Canada.

On November 4, Ahn Sun-young shared a video titled "I'm Leaving Korea Now. Packing My Career" on her personal channel, 'This is Ahn Sun-young.'

In the video, Ahn revealed, "I have never officially announced this anywhere, but today I'm sharing it for the first time. Since my debut in 2000, I have never taken a break from broadcasting, and I believe I am at the peak of my live broadcasting career."

Ahn Sun-young explained her decision to move to Canada, saying, "I'm leaving everything behind because my son, Baro, has been accepted into a Canadian youth hockey team, which selects only 13 players out of thousands."

She shared her conversation with her son, "I told him that he could play hockey in Korea, but I might not be able to return to broadcasting. However, Baro showed determination, saying, 'This is my life, and I want to try even if I have to stay in a dormitory.' This led me to decide to quit my job."

With 26 years in broadcasting, 8 years in entrepreneurship, and 10 years as a mother, Ahn reflected, "I may not have been a leading figure, but I reached a position where I generated high costs in live broadcasts. I took pride in being a livelihood broadcaster rather than a celebrity," she said with tears in her eyes.

Ahn Sun-young married her husband, who is three years younger, in 2013, and they have one son. After pausing her broadcasting career, she became a successful entrepreneur in 2018, achieving a cumulative sales of 1 trillion won in home shopping, which garnered attention.
