Former Baseball Captains Jung Keun-woo and Kim Jae-ho Share Insights on Leadership

On the YouTube channel 'Jung Keun-woo's Baseball Life,' released on the 3rd, Jung Keun-woo, captain of the 2015 national team, and Kim Jae-ho, captain of the 2016 national team, shared their thoughts on leadership.
Kim Jae-ho reflected on his time as captain of the Doosan Bears, saying, “When I first became captain, I felt the younger players needed more support to grow. I wanted to see them play freely without the hierarchy on the field. However, I might have neglected the senior players a bit.” Under Kim's leadership, the Doosan Bears achieved a championship victory in 2016.

Recalling Jung Keun-woo's leadership during the 2015 Premier12, Kim Jae-ho said, “I remember him being the first on the bus, making everyone laugh and easing the tension.” Jung Keun-woo added, “I thought I shouldn't waver. I tried to make things more enjoyable and even negotiated with KBO for better compensation for the players.” Under Jung's leadership, the team won the championship at the Tokyo Dome in 2015.
Kim Jae-ho shared anecdotes from his time as captain of the Doosan Bears, mentioning, “Yoo Hee-kwan would sulk if criticized and then stop talking to the team. I would quietly approach him and say, ‘We have thoughts and want to help you,’ and ‘If you act this way, it only harms you,’ resolving issues through conversation.”
Kim Jae-ho also revealed his journey to joining 'Fire Baseball,' stating, “After retiring, I took a five-month break, which was tough. My wife was the most disappointed about my retirement and submitted an application, thinking I still had competitiveness. I underestimated it, but the tryouts were intense, and the schedule was as demanding as when I was active.” He added, “I wanted to play under Coach Kim Sung-keun, but I would have been nervous during my active years. Now, having someone to give feedback is challenging but fun.”
