Emotional Turmoil Unfolds in Latest Episode of 'Head Over Heels'

Actor Choo Young-woo showcased a heart-wrenching tearful performance.

In the latest episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and IO Contents Group), aired on the 30th, Choo Young-woo portrayed Bae Gyeon-woo, who is left alone after the death of his grandmother.

On this day, Gyeon-woo stood alone in his grandmother Ok-soon's (played by Gil Hae-yeon) funeral room, with no mourners in sight. Among the relatives who arrived late, Gyeon-woo felt a deep sense of loneliness. The harsh words from the adults made the high school student feel even more intimidated. His uncle even tried to take away Gyeon-woo's mourning band, to which Gyeon-woo pleaded, "Can't you just let me stay here?" The portrayal of Gyeon-woo's tumultuous life continues to captivate viewers with each episode.

Gyeon-woo, in the house he shared with his grandmother, clutched a pair of shoes that no longer had an owner, shedding tears. Feeling as if everything was his fault, Gyeon-woo blamed himself, saying, "I'm sorry. I was the cause of grandma's unhappiness." He couldn't even cry out loud, as if he didn't deserve to. Despite his efforts to hold back, his lips trembled, and tears he couldn't suppress burst forth. Choo Young-woo's nuanced tearful performance added depth to Gyeon-woo's narrative.

Haunted by endless negative thoughts, a suicide spirit followed Gyeon-woo. With the help of 'human talisman' Seong-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun), Gyeon-woo found solace in a photo of his grandmother smiling brightly with his gold medal around her neck. Gyeon-woo wanted to quit archery because of his grandmother, yet at the same time, he wanted to pursue it again for her. When Gyeon-woo shot arrows, people cheered instead of criticizing him. By the end of the episode, as Gyeon-woo drew his bowstring once more, the suicide spirit retreated.
