A Shocking Kiss and a Legendary Boxer: 'Good Boy' Episode 5 Recap

The latest episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'Good Boy' left viewers both thrilled and shocked with a climactic kiss between Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun. On the episode aired on the 14th, the special investigation team uncovered suspicious ties between 'Bad Boy' Min Joo-young (Oh Jung-se) and Cheongil Shipping. However, the appearance of Russian mafia Leo (Go Jun) and the international drug syndicate's mastermind, Magwi (Lee Ho-jung), heightened the tension with a more formidable cartel. Following a kiss with Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), Yoon Dong-joo (Park Bo-gum) collapses, evoking the death of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, amplifying the unease. The episode achieved a nationwide rating of 5.9%, setting a new record.

Yoon Dong-joo, who fought like a butterfly and stung like a bee, managed to prevent Min Joo-young's escape abroad. Min Joo-young was taken to the police investigation room but maintained his innocence. Despite being confronted with evidence of various crimes, including the hit-and-run death of customs officer Lee Jin-soo and the murder of 'Monkey' gang boss Kim Deok-chul, he denied all charges. Meanwhile, prosecutor Kim Seok-hyun (Kim Seo-kyung) took over the case, hinting at a powerful figure backing Min Joo-young. Ultimately, Min Joo-young was released with a deferred prosecution for smuggling assistance.

Though enraged, Yoon Dong-joo did not act recklessly. Instead, he suspected Min Joo-young's involvement in a hit-and-run incident involving a luxury car. Rumors of Magwi being a 190cm tall man circulated, preventing suspicion. Russian mafia Leo (Go Jun) also made his presence felt, brutally killing traitorous members, signaling another shadow of evil.

Meanwhile, Ji Han-na's feelings for Yoon Dong-joo began to change. Initially annoyed by his attention, she was moved by his unwavering support and bravery. During a police event, Yoon Dong-joo shielded her from the sun and brought her drinks, leading to a pivotal moment where Ji Han-na kissed him.

However, Yoon Dong-joo experienced a disturbing reaction, with blurred vision and trembling hands, collapsing shortly after. His narration about Muhammad Ali's battle with Parkinson's disease added to the suspense. The episode, titled 'Punch Drunk Love,' left viewers questioning the implications of Ji Han-na's 'love' and the 'punch drunk' condition.
