Actor Namkoong Min Changes Mind After Revised Script for 'Our Movie'
On the 10th, a press conference for the upcoming SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by director Lee Jung-heum and actors Namkoong Min, Jeon Yeo-bin, Lee Seol, and Seo Hyun-woo.
'Our Movie' tells the story of a film director, Lee Jae-ha (played by Namkoong Min), who has no future prospects, and an actress, Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-bin), who is living her last day, as they embark on a love story that cannot be postponed.
Namkoong Min plays Lee Jae-ha, a character who was initially recognized as a genius director following in the footsteps of his legendary filmmaker father but has since fallen into a sophomore slump. Reflecting on his return to SBS dramas after three years, Namkoong Min stated, "Rather than having a special resolution, I always strive to do my best to leave no regrets." He mentioned that he decided to join 'Our Movie' just two days after reading the script, adding, "Initially, I said no."
Director Lee Jung-heum clarified, "To fact-check, the production company gave Namkoong Min the script, and he declined after three days. I personally called him and provided a revised version, which he found compelling enough to agree to participate within two days."
Namkoong Min further explained, "The drama didn't seem to fit into any particular category or have conditions optimized for a drama. However, the revised script was so interesting. Director Lee Jung-heum, as the captain, provided direction, and the writing improved significantly. It's a traditional melodrama with a sophisticated touch that inexplicably drew me in. I place great importance on intuition when choosing projects, and I was very attracted and entertained by it."
'Our Movie' is set to premiere on the 13th at 9:50 PM.
