Emotions Resurface in 'Second Shot at Love' as Confessions Stir Hearts

In the latest episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Second Shot at Love,' aired on the 27th, a heartfelt confession from Seo Eui-jun (played by Gong Myoung) awakens long-dormant feelings in Han Geum-joo (played by Choi Soo-young).

The sixth episode captured viewers' attention, achieving a 3.2% average viewership rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, peaking at 4.1%. Nationally, it recorded an average of 2.8% and a peak of 3.8%, securing the top spot among cable and general programming channels in its time slot. It also ranked first in the 2049 demographic, the target audience for tvN, according to Nielsen Korea.

Previously, Han Geum-joo, having successfully completed a seven-day alcohol-free challenge, asked Seo Eui-jun about the real reason behind their past estrangement. Seo Eui-jun confessed, "I liked you too much," explaining that he distanced himself because Han Geum-joo only saw him as a friend. He assured her that those feelings were in the past, drawing a line to prevent any discomfort.

However, there was an unspoken truth behind his confession. Seo Eui-jun's father, who had abandoned him as a child, reappeared, threatening to approach Han Geum-joo unless he was paid off. To protect her, Seo Eui-jun had no choice but to leave, leaving behind hurtful words.

Han Geum-joo found herself in turmoil, as Seo Eui-jun's confession lingered in her mind. Memories of her own feelings for him resurfaced, leading to dreams where she admitted, "I liked you too." In a daze, she sought out Seo Eui-jun, who explained that withdrawal symptoms could cause hallucinations. As she continued to hear his voice saying "I like you," her emotions spiraled further.

Seo Eui-jun's genuine care for Han Geum-joo became increasingly evident, shaking her heart. Despite a conflict with her superior, Kim Soo-seok, Seo Eui-jun's car's black box helped her out of a tight spot, and learning that he had been waiting for her two hours before a company dinner further stirred her emotions.

Seo Eui-jun's attentiveness extended to Han Geum-joo's family, amplifying her emotional turmoil. When her mother, Kim Kwang-ok (played by Kim Sung-ryung), unexpectedly announced a vacation, Seo Eui-jun empathized with her struggles and revealed he had encouraged the break. His thoughtful gesture prompted Han Geum-joo to reflect on her relationship with her mother, gradually warming their strained bond.

Amidst these developments, a chilling incident occurred. Boxes fell from a truck in front of their car, and a detective's comment about the truck's mysterious disappearance heightened their anxiety. Seo Eui-jun even dreamt of Han Geum-joo being attacked with a bottle.

Back home, Han Geum-joo encountered another unsettling scene: her mother, who never drank, was consuming soju. Shocked, Han Geum-joo rushed to support her collapsing mother. The source of Seo Eui-jun's unease and the mystery surrounding Kim Kwang-ok's behavior leave viewers eagerly anticipating the next episode.

The upcoming seventh episode of 'Second Shot at Love,' where cracks in their peaceful lives become more apparent, will air on June 2 at 8:50 PM.
