Park Min-young Cast as Lead in Amazon's First Korean Original Drama
South Korean actress Park Min-young has been cast as the lead in the first-ever Korean drama produced under Amazon's 'Original Section'.

Park Min-young will star in 'Confidence Man KR (working title)', a drama set to be Amazon Prime Video's first Korean Original, which will be available in 198 countries worldwide. The series is penned by Hong Seung-hyun, directed by Nam Ki-hoon, and produced by High Ground.

Previously, Korean dramas on Amazon Prime Video were only accessible through a separate Korean drama section. However, due to the surging global demand for Korean content, 'Confidence Man KR (working title)' has been chosen as the first Korean Original drama by Amazon.

Notably, Park Min-young's previous work, tvN's 'Marry My Husband', topped charts in Europe, the US, and South America on Amazon Prime Video during its airing. Even over a year after its conclusion, it remains in the TOP 10, showcasing its enduring popularity.

'Confidence Man KR (working title)' follows three con artists with exceptional skills as they take on villains from various walks of life. The series promises a clever narrative that exploits societal loopholes while playfully subverting traditional crime genre conventions, heralding the arrival of a new 'K-paper' genre. Park Min-young will portray Yoon Yi-rang, the genius leader of the con artist trio.

High Ground, the production company, stated, "This acknowledges Park Min-young's value as a global actress beyond South Korea. We ask for your anticipation and interest in 'Confidence Man KR (working title)', the first Korean Original content selected and produced by global OTT platform Amazon."

Meanwhile, 'Confidence Man KR (working title)' is set to begin filming in September 2024, with all 12 episodes recently completed. The series is slated for its first broadcast in the latter half of 2025.
