MBC's 'Adventure By Accident 4' Dominates Ratings and Popularity Charts

MBC's variety show 'Adventure By Accident 4' continues its meteoric rise, capturing both ratings and viewer interest just two weeks into its broadcast.

According to the Good Data Corporation's Fundex Report for the third week of May 2025, 'Adventure By Accident 4' surged by eight ranks, showing a remarkable 49.84% increase from the previous week, securing the top spot in the non-drama category for Sunday.

The second episode, aired on the 18th, not only topped the 2049 viewership ratings for Sunday entertainment but also claimed the number one spot on Netflix's TOP10 series in Korea and Wavve's entertainment category. With its impressive performance in ratings, OTT platforms, and viewer engagement, the show achieved a 'triple crown' in all areas.

The latest episode featured a touching moment where Kian84 bid farewell to a Sherpa with a heartfelt gift, and Dex's vlog of running through Pokhara's night streets to feed his hungry brothers captivated viewers, marking the return of the complete 'Kian-Dex' team with great fanfare.

Even before its premiere, the season garnered attention with its YouTube teaser video surpassing 1 million views in a day, ranking as the top trending video, marking the hottest start in the series' history.

The production team stated, “This season, set against the backdrop of the Tea Horse Road, captures the limits and emotional range of humans. The reason for its success across ratings, OTT, and viewer engagement is that the sincerity of the four cast members resonates with the audience.”

'Adventure By Accident 4' airs every Sunday at 9:10 PM on MBC, with behind-the-scenes and exclusive content available on the YouTube channel 'Adventure By Accident Basecamp.'

Meanwhile, at the 'Adventure By Accident 4' press conference, Kian84 confessed, "Usually, after 'Adventure By Accident,' I am bedridden for about two weeks. This time, it took almost a month to recover. I was constantly on IV drips and felt so unwell that I wondered if I was seriously ill. It was a personally challenging journey."

He added, “Even when I was working on webtoons, I never felt a sense of completion, but this time, I feel a sense of fulfillment. The PD keeps telling me not to say it's the last, but I think it's the end. Leaving while receiving applause seems fitting. I even got emotional at the end.”
