Go Yoon-jung Shines in 'Resident Playbook' with Her Honest and Heartfelt Performance

In the third episode of tvN's weekend drama 'Resident Playbook' (hereafter 'Someday Wise'), which aired on the 19th, Go Yoon-jung takes on the role of 'Oh Yi-young,' a first-year obstetrics and gynecology resident. Her honest and endearing charm makes her character impossible to dislike.

In this episode, Oh Yi-young initially explains a surgery for endometrial cancer to a patient and their guardian with logic. However, she soon empathizes with their emotions, treating the situation as if it were her own. Despite knowing she might face repercussions, she wholeheartedly commits, adding a poignant touch to the drama.

Oh Yi-young's characteristic honesty is evident as she interacts with professors, seniors, and peers, creating tension and humor. When advised by a senior to respond with a smile despite difficulties, she clearly communicates her perspective. Her factual explanations to patients, followed by her realization of her mistakes, showcase her character's authenticity and potential for growth.

Particularly, her straightforward flirting with fourth-year resident Goo Do-won (played by Jung Joon-won) raises the excitement level. From 'frozen pork belly' flirting to holding hands during group photos, and expressing her preferences while being charmed by Goo Do-won's 'gentlemanly arm,' Oh Yi-young's candid romantic storyline resonates with viewers, earning praise.

Go Yoon-jung portrays Oh Yi-young, who reluctantly starts her residency to pay off debts, with a sense of responsibility and care for her patients, evolving into a 'real doctor.' Her contrasting clumsiness in love, yet boundless honesty, adds a lovable twist, heightening anticipation for future developments.
