BLACKPINK's Jisoo Reflects on 'Newtopia' Finale Amidst Early Criticism

In 'Newtopia', Jisoo took on the role of Young-joo, a character known for her unwavering loyalty to Jae-yoon (played by Park Jung-min) and her courage and determination. Despite early criticism of her acting skills, Jisoo expressed her gratitude through her agency, BLISU, stating, "It feels like a precious work was created with many actors and staff, and I'm honored to be a part of it."
Jisoo further expressed her affection for her character, saying, "Living as Young-joo allowed me to reflect on many precious things I had forgotten. I'm grateful to Young-joo and will continue to support her. I hope those who watched 'Newtopia' will run towards hope without hesitation, and please continue to support Young-joo."

In addition to her acting career, Jisoo recently released a new mini-album titled 'AMORTAGE'. She is currently on her 2025 fan meeting tour 'LIGHTS, LOVE, ACTION!' across seven Asian cities, including Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Macau, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Hanoi.
Jisoo is also set to appear in the upcoming film 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' and the Netflix series 'Monthly Boyfriend', continuing her active presence in the entertainment industry.
Despite the initial criticism regarding her awkward expressions and exaggerated acting in 'Newtopia', which became a topic of discussion online, Jisoo remains committed to her craft and future projects.
