'Motel California' is a romantic drama based on the popular 2019 novel 'Home, Bitter Home' by writer Sim Yoon-seo. The story follows a female protagonist who was born and raised in a rural motel, as she reunites with her first love in her hometown, from which she fled 12 years ago, leading to a series of romantic and comedic events.
