K-Pop Star Park Seo-jin Opens Up About Emotional Struggles Amid Military Exemption Controversy

K-Pop singer Park Seo-jin recently shared his emotional struggles on the latest episode of KBS2's 'Mr. House Husband 2,' which aired on the 4th. The episode featured Park visiting his family in his hometown of Samcheonpo.

Park's parents revealed, "A few days ago, Seo-jin called us in the middle of the night. He said he just wanted to hear his mom's voice, but he sounded depressed. We were worried he might have negative thoughts like before."

Park Seo-jin has been embroiled in a 'military exemption lie controversy' recently. He confessed, "I've been going through a tough time emotionally. I had no one to confide in, so I called my parents after drinking, and they told me to come down immediately."

In the early morning, Park helped his parents with their work at the Samcheonpo port. His father encouraged him, saying, "We lived through tough times. Everyone is living fiercely like that. Stay strong and live tenaciously. Don't be swayed by what others say, and live diligently." Park, feeling uplifted, noted, "Everyone was busy working from early on. It was invigorating."

Despite being in Samcheonpo, Park had not eaten or slept for two days. His parents took him to a nostalgic food stall where he had his first meal, a toast. He shared, "I didn't feel hungry. Everything tasted like sand. But coming down to Samcheonpo, maybe because of the familiarity, I felt hungry and enjoyed the meal."

Park's family expressed their concern over his struggles with the controversy. His sister, Hyo-jung, tried to cheer him up with her usual dad jokes, despite their usual bickering. When Eun Ji-won commented, "Hyo-jung brings life to the room," Park jokingly replied, "It's not life, it's survival."

His second brother privately comforted Park, saying, "I didn't realize you were struggling so much because you didn't show it. I feel sorry for making you carry the burden alone. Now, you can lean on us." Park responded, "Today, you felt like a real brother. I felt your regret for not being able to comfort me."
