Rising Star Park Ju-hyun Faces Image Challenges Amid Personal Controversies

A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, Park Ju-hyun made her debut in the 2019 drama stage 'Wife's Bed' and quickly rose to stardom in 2020 with her role as Bae Gyu-ri in Netflix's 'Extracurricular.' In 'Extracurricular,' she portrayed a high school student involved in morally questionable activities with a calm and realistic approach, captivating viewers and gaining significant attention from both the public and the industry.
Park Ju-hyun has been actively expanding her acting spectrum through various dramas and films. She has starred in numerous dramas such as 'Zombie Detective,' 'Mouse,' 'Love All Play,' 'The Forbidden Marriage,' and 'Perfect Family,' and has taken on significant roles in films like 'Seoul Vibe' and 'Drive.' While she has generally received favorable reviews for her fresh charm and excellent acting skills, she has yet to surpass the buzz generated by 'Extracurricular.' Nevertheless, she has solidified her position in the industry with continuous casting in diverse projects.

The first incident occurred at the '45th Blue Dragon Film Awards' last month. When Jung Woo-sung, who was embroiled in an 'extramarital child controversy,' stated, "I will take full responsibility for my son," Park Ju-hyun responded with enthusiastic applause and cheers. Although her reaction was overshadowed by Lim Ji-yeon's presence, it left a negative impression on some members of the public.

While their agencies have stated that their relationship is a "private matter" without providing specific details, the lack of denial has led to widespread interpretation that they are indeed a couple.

Enhancing her public appeal as a celebrity is essential alongside her acting endeavors. Building a friendly image is crucial for gaining public favor. However, as she approaches her seventh year in the industry, Park Ju-hyun finds herself at the center of negative issues due to her applause for Jung Woo-sung and dating rumors with Song Min-ho. Concerns are being raised that these controversies may hinder her efforts to establish a positive image.
