Ryu Hyun-jin Hosts Star-Studded Charity Golf Tournament for a Good Cause
The event was featured on the KBS 2TV show 'Mr. House Husband 2' on the 14th. The foundation, established last year, aims to support youth baseball players and children with pediatric cancer and rare diseases. Ryu invited 84 celebrities to participate in the charity golf tournament.
The event saw the attendance of many stars, including Ji Jin-hee, Park Chan-ho, Baek Ji-young, Cha Tae-hyun, and Kim Jun-ho. Ryu personally invited the guests and managed the event schedule and team assignments.
Bae Ji-hyun advised Ryu, "Answer questions thoroughly and sincerely during the press conference. If you're uncomfortable, focus on someone you feel at ease with, like me." Ryu humorously replied, "Looking at you makes me more nervous. It feels like you're watching for mistakes."
Ryu appeared quite nervous during the press conference, admitting, "I was as tense as I am during games. As the foundation's chairman, I felt pressured not to make mistakes. I wanted to answer smoothly but worried about slipping up." When asked about his wife's golf skills, Ryu joked, "She needs to spend more time at the practice range than on the course," prompting laughter from Baek Ji-young, who commented, "That was the wrong answer."
The event concluded with a dinner and an auction of cherished items. The first auction item was from Park Chan-ho. Kim Jun-ho, who has expressed plans to marry Kim Ji-min, was teased by MC Kim Ki-soo about needing to prepare for their future together. Kim Jun-ho bid 1 million won for a 'Park Chan-ho signed baseball hand figure,' but it was sold for 2.7 million won.
Baek Ji-young boldly bid 3 million won for Ryu Hyun-jin's worn uniform, but Park Chan-ho emerged as a rival bidder. The price quickly soared to 18.5 million won. Baek Ji-young declared her intention to make a generous donation with a bid of 18.6 million won, but the uniform was ultimately sold for 21 million won, making it the highest-priced item of the auction.
Ryu, who had shown interest in the steak served at dinner, ended up not eating as he was busy attending to guests. He later settled for ramen, humorously remarking, "This was the toughest day since my wedding."
