BLACKPINK's Rosé Attempts to Call Bruno Mars on TV Show, Ends in Laughter
BLACKPINK's Rosé recently tried to call pop star Bruno Mars, but the attempt ended in laughter.
On the November 11th episode of tvN's variety show 'You Quiz on the Block,' Rosé appeared and mentioned her collaboration with Bruno Mars on the hit song 'APT.'
Rosé shared, "Bruno was originally supposed to come with me. I told him about 'You Quiz,' and he wanted to join, but due to visa issues, he couldn't make it. He's really disappointed," she said as she attempted to call him. However, Bruno Mars did not answer, and Rosé humorously held her phone, expecting a call back.
Rosé explained how she met Bruno Mars, noting his enthusiasm for activities in Korea. "I'm a fan of Bruno Mars, so I went to his concert. I heard he was at the after-party, so I went in a hoodie and cap, but he had left before I arrived," she said, causing laughter.
A year later, Rosé discovered that Bruno was signed to the same U.S. label she was in talks with. "I asked if he would be interested in collaborating, and he asked me to send three songs," she recounted. "I was amazed he would even listen to my songs. I picked them thinking, 'Of course, it won't happen.'"
Imagining Bruno singing 'APT,' Rosé said, "Others said 'APT' wouldn't work, so I secretly sent it along with the other songs. Bruno asked what 'APT' meant, and when I explained it was a Korean drinking game, he loved it and said it was the best," she shared about how the collaboration came to be.
Rosé added, "Bruno tells me to enjoy the moment. He says this doesn't happen every day and to cherish the love from so many people."
Rosé attempted another video call to Bruno Mars during the show, but it was unsuccessful. She humorously pouted, saying, "It's disappointing." Later, Rosé and Bruno created a video message together. In the video, Bruno Mars expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for loving Bruno," showcasing his charming personality.
